As part of the Australian Dental Association’s oral health recommendations, dental care should begin at an early age to ensure healthy teeth for life. In most cases, your baby’s first visit should be around the time when their first tooth appears or when they reach the age of 12 months, whichever comes first.
Though you might believe that you shouldn’t schedule an appointment until your child has a complete set of teeth (usually by age 3), the earlier your child sees the dentist, the better.
